Pancake Day

Rather than discussing what we are going to give up for lent we thought it would be much more fun to discuss what we’ll be having in our pancakes on Pancake Day. Even though I don’t actually like pancakes myself I was slightly tempted to try again after hearing some of the fillings that are going to be tried by the office team...

Chocolate sauce, whipped cream and Strawberries

Honey and Lemon

Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and hundreds and thousands

Cheese, lots and lots of cheese

Banoffie pie, bananas, toffee syrup and cream (has been tried and tested in a crepe shop in Japan)

Vanilla ice cream, banana and toffee sauce

If you have any other yummy ideas please email us at fun@barracudas.co.uk

Valentines Day

Valentines Day is just around the corner and the girls in the Barracudas office are all in the Valentines Day spirit (which includes sharing) so we thought we would share our Valentines Day suggestions with you, which you and your children can do together:

For Mum:

Bunch of Flowers

What you’ll need:
Red ribbon
A piece of Red card
Lots of bright coloured card
Green pipe cleaners
Mum and dads permission

The children will love the idea of playing florists and making their very own bunch of flowers. All you need to do is cut out 6 flower shaped heads from different pieces of coloured card and attach the flower head to a green pipe cleaner (the stem). Once you have finished making your bunch of flowers finish it off with a piece of red ribbon to hold the bouquet together. It would also be nice to cut out a heart shape from a piece of red card to use as a gift tag which you can thread onto the ribbon.

For Dad:

A Valentines Day card

What you’ll need:
A piece of white card
A piece of red card (Which you’ll have left over after making Mums flowers)
Lots of glitter and sequins
A photo of your Mum and Dad
A little bit of Valentines Day spirit

Get a piece of A4 white card and fold it in half, cut out a red heart from your piece of red card and stick it on the front with a picture of your mum and dad in the middle of it. Now is your chance to be as creative as you like and go crazy with your glitter and sequins.

New Years Resolutions

We're now approaching the end of January, which means we've been trying to stick to our New Years resolutions for nearly a month now. Apparently 4 out of 5 people gave up their resolutions by 25th January, but here at the Barracudas office we are desperately trying to stick to ours.

Our New Years resolutions are:

A parachute jump - from a very brave Stacey

To make a packed lunch instead of buying it - from a now health conscious Elliott (or money conscious I'm not sure which!).

To be more positive - from a very optimistic Claire who's so positive that she thinks she might win the lottery.

Going on a diet (her cat that is) - from Karen who got told that poor Thomas was a little overweight.

To try and sleep in until 6am - from Rachel who is normally woken by a little someone climbing into her bed at 5am.

Learn lyrics to my top 5 songs- from Rebecca in the sales team (I'll probably learn them too, as I'm sat next to her).
To give up chocolate biscuits - from Sarah who will most definitely struggle seen as she has to share the office with the rest of us who are massive fans of anything made of chocolate (sorry Sarah).
