Art activities for children in Essex

If you're looking for art activities for children in Essex, you can now visit an exhibition that adults are also sure to love!

Beecroft Gallery is holding Painted Words – White Rabbits, Heroes and Scoundrels until June 4th, giving you plenty of time to head down to the gallery.

When you visit this exhibition you'll see local artist Karen Jones' interpretations of literature's heroes and villains, and celebrate the written word.

The gallery's website said: "Karen’s distinctive style and fresh new interpretations bring to life some of written word’s most iconic characters."

While you're in the area you can also find summer activities for kids at Southchurch Hall Museum, an interesting medieval manor house from the early 14th century.

At this venue, you can explore the period rooms and learn more about what the area was alike during Tudor, Stuart and Victorian times.

Unlike at many museums, kids (and adults!) are also allowed to touch many of the items on display.
